SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
21 September 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

HULL''S season has come to an abrupt halt after their Craven Park Stadium was made unavailable.

A dispute over rent payments between promoter Paul Hodder and landlords Hull Kingston Rovers Rugby League club appears to be the main reason. And work is due to start on widening the rugby pitch next Monday - which means the end of speedway at the Preston Road site after 11 seasons.

WORKINGTON fans will turn out in force to back skipper Carl Stonehewer''s testimonial at Derwent Park on Saturday. Elite League stars including Leigh Adams and Billy Hamill are included in a high quality line-up. Stonehewer said: ''I want it to be a special night for everyone, not just me. We''ve got some of the top riders in the world coming to the meeting and it should be a great night.''
