COVENTRY have made themselves favourites for the Elite League title after a 54-41 home win over Belle Vue in the first leg of the play-off final.
Aces skipper Jason Crump scored a 21-point maximum but Bees gave the more solid team performance. Coventry co-boss Peter Oakes said: ''We now have to guard against thinking we''ve won it. We''ve still got 15 very tough heats to come at Belle Vue next Monday.'' ORGANISERS of the British Grand Prix have revealed the date for next year''s Millennium Stadium meeting is Saturday June 3. John Poslethwaite, the chief executive of Benfield Sports International, made the announcement at the Elite League play-off final. He said: ''Each year the event gets bigger and better. With over 40,000 fans the British Speedway Grand Prix has become the biggest annual stadium motorsport event in Europe.''
