Harley-Davidson’s ‘Do You Own A Legend?’ competition is shifting up a gear as entrants from across the UK compete in the regional finals this August to decide which 15 will be flown to Austria, courtesy of Harley-Davidson.

Being held at three Harley Owners’ Group (H.O.G.) rallies at Bisley, Wakefield and Markyate (Hertfordshire) between 6-8 August, the regional finals will be the showcase for all the winners from the first round, all hopefuls bidding for the title of the ‘UK’s Best Sportster’.

As well as the coveted title, the prize of a brand new-for-2004 Sportster is up for grabs to the overall winner – ready to be customised from the 30,000 genuine parts and accessories on offer from Harley-Davidson and bring another Sportster into the history books. And the winners of each of the five categories set forward from the competition will receive a spectacular helicopter ride during European Bike Week in Faaker See.

Taking its name from its original design concept as the ultimate sporting motorcycle in the fifties, the Sportster has endured as a favourite for racing heroes throughout the sixties and seventies and is the ideal introduction for first-time riders into the Harley-Davidson experience. New for 2004, the rubber mounted engine and improved rider ergonomics give more comfort to the classic style of a living legend.
