SAY FAREWELL TO THE SUMMER
17 September 2005 - BMW Motorrad GB
As the British summer season draws to a close, BMW Motorrad UK is gearing up for two days of motorcycling mayhem this weekend as up to 30,000 biking nuts head to the East of England Showground in Peterborough for the annual British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) Tail End Show.
After giving away the star prize (a brand new K1200 S superbike) at the BMF Show last May, the BMW Motorrad stand will once again be at the forefront of activity, offering visitors the chance to test ride a selection of the latest BMW models. In addition, there will also be displays of clothing and accessories from the innovative BMW Rider Equipment collection, including the new ProRace leather suit, the Santiago textile suit and the SportIntegral Carbon helmet – the lightest helmet in its class. The most powerful naked production street bike in the world – the 163 bhp K1200 R – will be available for road testing, as will many of the other ‘new generation’ models including the best-selling R1200 GS, the R1200 ST sports touring sensation, plus the legendary R1200 RT tourer. BMW’s acclaimed superbike – the 167 bhp K1200 S – will also be available for test rides (participants will be required to show both parts of their driving licence in order to test ride any BMW motorcycle). The autumn issue of BMW Bikes magazine will be available for visitors to take away, and contains news and reviews of all the latest models, as well as details about the World of BMW customer activity programme. Now in its eighth year, the BMF Tail End Show continually attracts a growing number of top manufacturers to the East of England Showground. In addition, hundreds of trade stands and live action arena events will keep everyone entertained, including Vintage Speedway, Moped Enduro, and stunt riding teams. There are also numerous activities to keep the children entertained, as well as evening entertainment for the adults, with three music venues and two live bands. The BMF Tail End Show takes place on Saturday 17 September and Sunday 18 September from 9am-5pm. For ticket information visit www.bmf.co.uk
