BMW MOTORRAD DEALERSHIP WINS TOP HONOURS IN PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
16 September 2005 - BMW Motorrad GB

BMW Motorrad Dealership CW Motorcycles has been crowned Best Dealer in the country by readers of RiDE magazine in its annual RiDER POWER Survey 2005 – the fourth time the Dealership has won the coveted title.

CW Motorcycles scooped top honours after all the readers of RiDE magazine were invited to nominate and assess their favourite dealership in a number of categories that included after-sales service, pricing of bikes and range of products.

A total of 93 dealerships were nominated for the award and an impressive rating of 95.11% lifted CW Motorcycles to the top of the overall dealer ratings. CW Motorcycles also came first in its regional section. A further 10 BMW Motorrad Dealerships were also listed in the survey’s top 20, including category runner-up Rainbow Motorcycles; sixth-placed Allan Jefferies, and Ocean BMW (10th).

Commenting on the results, CW Motorcycles Managing Director Dave Wyndham said: ''It is pleasing to have won the Best Dealer Award yet again. The RiDER POWER Survey first began in 1999 when we won our first title. We repeated this in 2000 and again in 2001. We are a professional team who have taken customer satisfaction very seriously since the Dealership opened in 1983 – and we will continue to do so in the future.''

Voted favourite dealership in the north-east for its impeccable service, and having narrowly missed out on the Best Dealer Award by a mere 0.11%, Rotherham’s Rainbow Motorcycles was equally pleased with its success. Shaun Thomas, Manager at Rainbow Motorcycles, said: ''We combine technical expertise and knowledge within a friendly and relaxed showroom environment. We are delighted with the results and will try even harder next year.''

And it wasn’t just the performance of its dealerships that pleased BMW Motorrad UK. Famous for taking Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman around the world, and as the bike ridden by GlobeBusters duo Kevin and Julia Sanders to achieve their second Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of the Americas continent; the BMW R1150 GS Adventure scooped the Best Trailie Award with 91% of the vote.

RiDER POWER 2005 participant Steve Horning said: ''Beloved of round-the-worlders and movie stars, the BMW Adventure is the real deal when it comes to crushing continents. It boasts taller suspension, a bigger 30-litre tank and greater crash protection.''

BMW’s dynamic new R1200 GS and the well-established R1150 GS models were awarded second and third places respectively.

Only six months after its launch to sports bike enthusiasts, BMW Motorrad’s K1200 S superbike was voted second best bike in the RiDER POWER Sports Tourers category. Thanks to a narrow inline four-cylinder engine, which produces a massive 167 bhp, the K1200 S delivers a fast ride without losing any of BMW Motorrad’s traditional comfort levels and distance capability. RiDE magazine concluded: ''The K1200 S has an awesomely capable four-cylinder powerplant that would put a few superbikes to shame.''
