SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES

COVENTRY kept alive their hopes of a top two Elite League finish with a stunning 54-40 win at Ipswich.
Sebastian Ulamek top scored with 13 and former Ipswich favourite Scott Nicholls scored 11+1 on his Foxhall return. Bees co-boss Peter Oakes said: ''We''d all like to dedicate this one to Scott, it means so much to him to come here and win. It was a terrific all-round performance.'' PETERBOROUGH boss Trevor Swales has sung the praises of his riders after seeing them move into the play-off places. Panthers gained maximum points from their double header with Eastbourne and have two home meetings remaining with a top two place now possible. Swales said: ''I''m proud of each and every one of my riders and we have to keep it going for the last couple of meetings.'' FUMING King''s Lynn chief Keith Chapman has hit out after losing Troy Batchelor with a broken arm - when riding for Elite League Eastbourne! He said: ''This emphasises the ridiculous deal with the Elite League. One of my top riders gets injured and we are the ones who suffer most. ''Eastbourne can go and pick someone else to cover and yet we have to use rider replacement which seriously weakens us.''
