SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
29 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

NICKI Pedersen is Eastbourne''s first ever winner of the Elite League Riders'' Championship after a tense final at Swindon.

The former world champion edged out Coventry''s Scott Nicholls, Peter Karlsson of Peterborough and reigning champion Bjarne Pedersen of Poole in the final. He said: ''I was only made aware of the fact that Eastbourne have never had a winner half-way through the meeting so I had to go for it!''

STOKE are waiting anxiously for a medical update on Adam Allott who crashed out of their 47-42 home win over Edinburgh. The former King''s Lynn and Sheffield rider fell in the first race and sustained an arm injury. Potters promoter Dave Tattum said: ''Adam may have suffered a break but we won''t know fully until later. It was a great win because we had our backs to the wall.''
