WIN A FIREBLADE AND SUPPORT CHARITY
14 June 2004 - Honda (UK)
Honda is hoping to provide a massive cash boost for the 2004 Sport Relief campaign.
The world’s leading motorcycle manufacturer is following the charity’s ''go the extra mile'' fundraising theme by donating a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade motorcycle as a competition prize. The road-going motorcycle is painted in HM Plant Honda Racing colours and looks similar to the factory CBR1000RR Fireblades raced by number three Michael Rutter and number 23 Ryuichi Kiyonari in this year’s British Superbike Championship. Phone and text lines have been set up for competition entrants to answer a simple question for a chance at winning the stunning black and orange machine. A donation of at least 70 pence per phone call and text will be donated to the charity, which tackles poverty and disadvantage across the UK and rest of the world. It is hoped that the entries will raise thousands of pounds for Sport Relief before midnight on 28 June 2004, since the desirable motorcycle is likely to be a highly coveted prize – particularly among fans of motorsport. The prize includes tax and on the road charges, excluding insurance, and will be delivered to the winner’s closest Honda dealership for collection. The user must hold a full motorcycle licence. If that alone is not enough, the winner will also be invited to a forthcoming round of the British Superbike Championship as a VIP guest of the Honda Racing team which incorporates HM Plant Honda Racing and Red Bull Rookies Honda. Honda Racing Race Team Manager Neil Tuxworth said: ''Honda has had a close working relationship with the BBC through its coverage of motorsport events including MotoGP, the World Superbike Championship and, more recently, the British Superbike Championship. ''We’re delighted to help support such a worthwhile cause, while also promoting Honda Racing’s activities to a wider audience. The CBR1000RR is Honda’s flagship model. It clearly demonstrates the link between developing road products from our racing activities, which the winner will witness when they visit a forthcoming round of the British Superbike Championship.'' For a chance to win phone 09065 555500 or text the word ‘bike’ plus the correct answer to the following question to 82125. What is Michael Rutter’s number in the British Superbike Championship? a) 3 b) 13 c) 33 Full information about Sport Relief can be found by visiting www.sportrelief.com
