SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
28 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

TONY Rickardsson completed the formality of a record equalling sixth world title when he breezed past the four points he needed in the Polish Grand Prix.

The former Poole star made sure of the crown with a third place in heat six in a meeting won by Poland''s Tomasz Gollob. Swindon star Lee Richardson was runner-up with outgoing champion Jason Crump third and Oxford''s Greg Hancock fourth.

TONY Rickardsson has now equalled Ivan Mauger''s record of six world titles after his Polish performance. He said: ''It is a fantastic feeling and I am just so happy. This has been my best season ever. ''It was hard to keep my focus after the title was won. I was at the tapes waiting for the green light with a big smile on my face! I really had to concentrate.''

STEVE Boxall romped to victory in the SilverSki Conference League Riders'' Championship on his home track Rye House. Boxall was unstoppable with a full 15-point maximum in front of a healthy crowd at the Hoddesdon raceway. Stoke''s Barrie Evans won a run-off for second place ahead of Armadale''s Blair Scott and Weymouth''s David Mason after all three riders had finished on 11 points from their five programmed rides.
