SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
25 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

HULL promoter Paul Hodder is optimistic that the Vikings can survive after a shortlist of three potential sites for speedway was drawn up.

The club have failed to agree terms with their landlords Hull KR to remain at Craven Park but the City Council are playing a key role in the future plans. Hodder said: ''Lots of things seem to be going in our favour and everyone at the meeting seemed postive.''

SHEFFIELD boss Neil Machin says his riders owe the fans a strong finish to the season after disappointment last weekend. Machin said: ''Our fans travelled in good mood last weekend hoping for something special, but we were very much below par. ''I still believe we''re in a good League position and a top three finish is what we''re looking for - then we can put in a good challenge in the Young Shield.''
