WOLVERHAMPTON v IPSWICHSKYBET ELITE LEAGUEMONDAY JULY 26 - 7.30pm
WOLVERHAMPTON boss Peter Adams believes the visit of play-off hopefuls Ipswich to Monmore Green on Monday will be a ''tricky test''. The Witches have already won at the Black Country track this season - by a six-point margin back on April 12. Since then Wolves have found a consistent run of form and are currently in second place behind Poole in the current Elite League table. Adams said: ''The fact that Ipswich have won here already this season means we know the size of the task ahead of us. ''They have some riders who are sure to feel comfortable on our track and we will have to be on our guard. ''The league table is looking good for us right now, but we have ridden a lot of home meetings and there are teams behind us who have ridden more away than at home, so we have to be careful. ''We want to ensure we secure second place at the very least and in order to do that we have to win our home meetings. We have a super away record but the fact that we have lost three at home this season is a source of frustration for me. ''The Ipswich meeting is very, very important to us and I''ll be looking for all my riders to be scoring points right from the start.'' Simon Stead is named at reserve for the Monmore men and American youngster Eric Carrillo is on stand-by at number eight to take races for the injured Daniel Nermark is necessary. Ipswich have a slight fitness doubt over Wolves asset Jesper B Jensen, who suffered rib injuries last week but is keen to ride at his only other British track. WOLVERHAMPTON: Mikael Max, Daniel Nermark R/R, Fredrik Lindgren, David Howe, Sam Ermolenko, Adam Skornicki, Simon Stead, Eric Carrillo. IPSWICH: Hans Andersen, Kim Jansson, Jesper B Jensen, Chris Louis, Scott Nicholls, Daniel King, Trevor Harding. --- FREDRIK Lindgren''s excellent run of form continued when he claimed runners-up spot in the World Under-21 semi-final. Lindgren, riding in Vetlanda in his home country of Sweden, scored 11-points from his five qualifying rides - including two victories. Reading''s Matej Zagar (Slovenia) and Poole''s Krsysztof Kasprzak (Poland) were at the top of the scorecharts after five rides each with 13 and new Eastbourne signing Adrian Miedzinski was on 12. Lindgren qualified for the final by finishing second to Zagar in his semi-final - and he finished ahead of Daniel Davidsson, another Poole rider. Belle Vue''s Kenneth Bjerre went on to win the final, the Dane just having the edge over Lindgren with Zagar third and Eric Andersson fourth.
