ROOKIE’S ROLL CONTINUES
24 August 2005 - Honda Racing
Chris Jones is aiming to continue his recent successful run of form at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday to consolidate his top three position in the British 125GP Championship.
Red Bull Honda’s rookie claimed his fourth consecutive podium finish at the last round of the series at Silverstone. The 14-year-old led the race from the start, but was forced to settle for second position after James Westmoreland passed him on the penultimate lap of the race. Jones was unable to find a way back past his rival for the victory. However, Jones is confident that he can seal his third race win of the season at round ten at Cadwell Park. During the recent official test at Red Bull Honda’s home circuit, the Droitwich teenager set the fastest times in every British 125GP session. He feels that the practice will allow him to have a strong advantage over his rivals. Chris Jones: “I was really pleased about getting another podium finish at Silverstone. It was a little disappointing not to win after leading for so long, but I had a good race. Hopefully I can aim for a win at Cadwell Park. I had a good test there and I’m looking forward to revisiting the track. The rest of the Red Bull Honda team has told me what a good atmosphere there is at the track with the local fans.”
