GIANT HARLEY-DAVIDSON CELEBRATION IS READY TO ROLL
28 August 2005 - Harley-Davidson UK

European Bike Week: September 7/11, Faaker See, Austria

It’s one of Europe’s largest and most vibrant celebrations of the two-wheeled way of life and EUROPEAN BIKE WEEK 2005 is set to be the biggest and best yet according to the event’s organisers.

The Harley-Davidson Village is expanding (for the fourth year in succession) to accommodate even more live music and entertainment, including the unmistakable sounds of Uriah Heep. The Motor Company’s Demo Ride programme (one of the biggest outside of the United States) will be operating from dawn till dusk and once again Faaker See will be the first place in Europe to experience Harley-Davidson’s just-launched motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles making their debut in Austria include:

• The minimalist FXDBI Street Bob
• The FLXHI Street Glide – a highly distinctive addition to the Touring range
• A new and menacing member of the VRSC family, the VRSCD Night Rod
• The limited edition FXDI 35th Anniversary Super Glide
• The reintroduced and classic FLSTI Heritage Softail
• Two new Buells will also be breaking cover; the radical Ulysses XB12X adventure sport motorcycle and the Lightning Long XB12SS

In addition to the non-stop live music and the launch of seven new motorcycles from Harley-Davidson and Buell, European Bike Week will be offering a mammoth line-up of riding activities and displays, as well as its usual mix of off-the-wall fun. Selected highlights include:

• Harley-Davidson Fashion Shows: 2006 Season launched at Faaker See
• Extreme Riding Show with Reiner Schwarz
• Guided Tours: discover the best mountain roads and scenery
• Ride-in Bike Show: some outstanding examples of custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles from across Europe
• The Parade: the traditional climax to the event, thousands of riders take to the road to create one of Europe’s biggest mass ride-outs.

European Bike Week’s reputation as one of ‘the places’ to relax and party after a great day’s riding is already well established and the Harley-Davidson Village will be hosting dozens of bars and eateries throughout the week including the American Showbar, Rock House tent, the Hot Dot Café as well as the Monkey Circus tent.
