17 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
ISLE OF WIGHT chairman Martin Newnham is delighted with the impact made so far by new Polish signing Krzysztof Stojanowski.
Stojanowski scored paid 14 on Tuesday as the Islanders continued their move up the Premier League table with a win over Hull. Newnham said: ''We''ve had our eyes on him for some time and everything fell into place. The fans have already taken him to their hearts and he is ultra-keen to do well.'' WORKINGTON star Carl Stonehewer is already making plans for his comeback despite being ruled out for the rest of the season with serious skin damage. Stonehewer has had three operations on his arm, with a skin graft required after it became caught in Craig Boyce''s back wheel last month. Stonehewer said: ''I will ride again, no question about that and hopefully it will be next season. I''ve been enjoying my racing more than ever this season.''
