CARMICHAEL CLOSES IN ON TRIPLE TITLE

Team Makita Suzuki''s Ricky Carmichael took a convincing double victory at today''s Binghampton AMA Motocross 10th round in New York - his 25th straight win in the series - and needs just a handful of points to seal his third title of the year at the penultimate round.
The current AMA Supercross, THQ World Supercross and reigning Outdoor 250cc Champion took the opening race on his RM-Z450 four-stroke by more than 32 seconds and then the second 30 minute moto by 16 seconds over series rival Kevin Windham. The Florida rider leads the series by 95 points with just 100 points on the table over the next two rounds. All Carmichael needs to do to clinch the title is finish 16th in either motos at the next round in Delmont, Pennsylvania in a fortnight. 250 Results: 1. Ricky Carmichael (Makita Suzuki) 1-1; 2.
