SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
15 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SOMERSET skipper Magnus Zetterstrom was sensationally thrown out of their meeting at Newcastle after a clash with Christian Henry.
Henry suffered a nasty gash to his thigh in a meeting which the Diamonds won 60-36 and also won the bonus point after Josef Franc beat Ritchie Hawkins. Newcastle boss George English said: ''It''s a horrible and painful injury which should never, not in a million meetings, have happened.'' SOMERSET boss Mick Bell has jumped to the defence of his skipper Magnus Zetterstrom after seeing him excluded from the meeting at Newcastle. He said: ''I couldn''t believe the decision, he just made matters worse. ''Magnus is not a dirty rider and there is no way he deliberately took Christian off - it was hard riding and there was no intent on the part of my rider.''
