NEWPORT have booked ex-Wasps rider Carl Wilkinson to guest for Jason King in Sunday''s clash with the Isle of Wight.
King joined the club''s growing injury list when he dislocated his shoulder at King''s Lynn on Wednesday. Promoter Tim Stone said: ''It''s one thing after another at the moment but Carl has been going very well for Berwick and we are pleased he has taken the booking.'' FORMER Birmingham promoter Chris Van Straaten has lent his support to Tony Mole''s bid to revive the sport in the second city. Van Straaten, the Wolverhampton promoter, was with the Brummies when they closed in 1983 due to the loss of their stadium.
