BIKESURE RELOCATES CALL CENTRE – UP THE GARDEN PATH
19 August 2005 - Bikesure
British is best for Call Centres, say insurer’s customers
Bikesure is following in the footsteps of many an insurance company in planning to relocate its call centre. However, in this case the relocation isn’t to the other side of the planet. Rather, it’s up the garden path. Bikesure is the motorcycle division of Adrian Flux Insurance. And keeping the Call Centre in Britain is just what the customers ordered, says the company. A new building to house the Underwriting Centre is currently under construction in the grounds of East Winch Hall, the historic house that is Flux’s HQ. Up to 160 staff will work there, answering customer service calls and manning the busy insurance quote lines. “Bikesure and the rest of the Flux Group have experienced huge growth in the past few years,” says Flux’s Operations Director Gerry Bucke. “When we moved to East Winch in 2001 we had just over 180 staff altogether – by the end of 2006 there could be 450 here.” Was there ever a question of moving the Call Centre elsewhere? “No, never,” says Gerry. “To be honest, talking to staff located in the UK seems to be a big reassurance for many customers. Over recent years it’s actually become an important selling advantage for us, so there was never a question on relocation – 20 metres is about right, I reckon!” Bikesure has a huge range of specialist policies for the motorcycle enthusiast, including schemes for trikes and quads.
