SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
11 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

EASTBOURNE have suffered a double injury blow ahead of their Friday night Elite League showdown with Wolverhampton at Arlington.

David Norris has been ruled out after aggravating a neck injury and he is joined on the sidelines by Adam Shields who has a broken collarbone. Mark Loram stands in for the unavailable Nicki Pedersen. Boss Jon Cook said: ''It''s even harder for us as Wolves haven''t lost here in two years.''

STAFF of Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital have been invited to Exeter''s home matches throughout August free of charge. The move is a gesture by the club to show their appreciation for the care of injured riders throughout Exeter''s 76-year history. Promoter David Short said: ''We thought this would be an appropriate way of expressing our appreciation for all the care the staff have provided down the years.''
