WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
11 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

Elite League: PETERBOROUGH 51 WOLVERHAMPTON 39

DAVID Howe''s unbelievable Showground injury jinx struck once again as Wolves went down to a deceptively heavy defeat at Peterborough last night. Howe, who broke his ankle earlier this season as one of a catalogue of previous injuries sustained at his former home track, was dumped unceremoniously into the third-bend fence on the first lap of Heat 3 by an over-zealous Jesper Jensen who was challenging on the inside. Although Howe returned to the pits after attention and took his place in the re-run, he then withdrew with concussion and will now face a battle to be fit for Friday''s trip to Eastbourne. Wolves battled hard to stay in the meeting despite a lack of race winners, and 5-1s in each of the last two races for Peterborough gave the scoreline something of an unreflective slant. With Wolves taking a 14-point advantage into the meeting, they secured the aggregate bonus point, although there may be a degree of frustration that Panthers reserve Lukas Dryml was able to clock up a five-ride full maximum for the home side.

PETERBOROUGH: Lukas Dryml 15, Peter Karlsson 13+1, Ales Dryml 11, Sam Ermolenko 5+1, Jesper B Jensen 4, Henning Bager 3, Daniel Davidsson 0.

WOLVES: Scott Nicholls 10, Steve Johnston 9, Ronnie Correy 7+2, Fredrik Lindgren 7, Krzysztof Pecyna 3+1, Magnus Karlsson 2+1, David Howe 1+1.
