HONDA RACING RIDERS GET BIKEWISE
17 August 2005 - Honda Racing

On Sunday 14 August, HM Plant Honda Racing’s Michael Rutter and Honda-Racing.co.uk’s Karl Harris visited the North East in support of a regional motorcycle safety campaign.

The Durham Constabulary''s Bikewise event aims to promote important messages that are designed to cut fatalities and reduce crime in the region.

Despite unpredictable weather conditions, the family fun-day, which kicked off at 10am, entertained more than 10,000 visitors.

Current British Superbike Championship leader Rutter and reigning British Supersport Champion Harris, who back the constabulary’s Wait a Second campaign, took part in a special rider presentation, met with guests, signed autographs and participated in a HM Plant mini-excavator challenge.

Other attractions on the day included the opportunity to meet current World Superbike Champion James Toseland, see an awe-inspiring stunt show and visit the skidpan motor school.
