RIDE-OUT WITH RUTTER
16 August 2005 - Honda Racing

In a bid to raise money for charity, HM Plant Honda Racing’s British Superbike Championship contender Michael Rutter is encouraging people to join him as he leads a ride-out on Tyneside.

The special event will take place on Saturday 17 September and will coincide with HM Plant’s Family Fun Day. Rutter will lead the police-escorted ride-out from Durham Police Headquarters to HM Plant’s head office on Monkton Business Park North in Hebburn, Tyne & Wear. His arrival will mark the official opening of the event.

Rutter’s team-mate Riyuchi Kiyonari will also be taking time off from the track to attend the event along with 2004 World Superbike Champion James Toseland. Adults and children will be invited to meet the riders, obtain their autographs and have photographs taken with them.
Twenty-five years after HM Plant was appointed as the UK’s sole distributor of Hitachi Construction Machinery, the Family Fun Day is being held to coincide with its anniversary celebrations. The general public are invited to share in its success – both in the construction industry and, of course in recent years, on the track.

HM Plant’s close association with motorcycling is reflected in an action-packed day of two-wheeled activities. Former European Stunt Champion Craig Jones will keep the crowds entertained and Andy Huddleston will negotiate a spectacular excavator jump during his trials riding display.

All of the activities have been organised to cater for the whole family. The emphasis is very much on fun with a bouncy castle, face painting and hot air balloon rides. Visitors can also take a red carpet tour of HM plant’s state-of-the-art factory, get to grips with an Hitachi Zaxis mini-excavator in the Dunlop Tyres Challenge or even test their skill with an electronically operated excavator.

To participate in the ride-out with Rutter, call into any HM Plant depot and exchange your £2 for a HM Plant Honda sticker. This must be clearly displayed on the motorbike to qualify to ride in the event.
