TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOR THE MICHELOB ULTRA LONDON TRIATHLON

The Michelob ULTRA London Triathlon will take place over the weekend of 31 July to 1 August.
With over 8,000 participants, the event will be centred around the London Docklands and the ExCel exhibition centre with competitors racing along the Embankment to Big Ben on the Sunday. Some central London roads will be closed to traffic for safety reasons and will remain closed until crowds have dispersed. People are advised not to drive into central London or the Docklands unless absolutely necessary and to allow extra time for their journeys and to allow extra time for their journeys. Saturday 31st July To accommodate the London Triathlon the following roads will be closed from 07.00 Saturday until 18.00 Sunday. * Lower Lea crossing is closed eastbound but will allow a single lane of traffic westbound * Royal Albert Way dual carriageway is closed in both directions between Gallions roundabout and Connaught Bridge Sunday 1st August The British 10k Road Race is being held and up to 20,000 runners are expected to leave Piccadilly at 09.30 and to follow a 10k route that passes locations associated with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
The route of the race is from Piccadilly then via St James''s Street, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, Northumberland Avenue, Victoria Embankment, Blackfriars Underpass, Upper Thames Street, Castle Baynard Street, Puddle Dock, Queen Victoria Street, White Lion Hill, Upper Thames Street, Blackfriars Underpass and Victoria Embankment, Westminster Bridge, Bridge Street, returning into Victoria Embankment for Horse Guards Avenue and Whitehall to finish. The following roads will be closed between the following periods:
* Piccadilly and Cockspur Street From 0700 and until about 1200 * Parliament Street and Whitehall From 0700 and until about 1200 * Westminster Bridge From 0700 and until about 1300 * Victoria Embankment From 0700 and until about 1700 * Embankment will open eastbound only from 13.00 * Southwark Bridge From 12.00 and until about 17.00 * Tower Bridge From 12.00 and until about 17.00 * Upper and Lower Thames Street w/b Traffic can travel via London Wall A1211 and Holborn Viaduct A40 * The Highway between Tower Bridge and Limehouse Link is only open eastbound and all traffic will be diverted onto the A13. * Areas adjoining the Highway''s westbound carriageway will have crossing points controlled by the Metropolitan Police at Glamis Road and Vaughn Road. * Limehouse Link and East India Dock Tunnels until 18.00. * Lower Lea crossing is closed eastbound but will allow a single lane of traffic westbound.
