SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
06 August 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
GREAT Britain go for World Cup glory in Saturday''s Final at Wroclaw with an unchanged line-up from last weekend''s super showing at Swindon.
Poland start as favourites in their home country, but Britain are looking to go one better than their runners-up spot from last year. Skipper Scott Nicholls said: ''The team spirit is terrific, and if we can be consistent and avoid last places then we have a chance.'' POLISH skipper Tomasz Gollob is urging caution from his nation''s supporters as they bid for a first World Cup win since 1996. Poland eased through Thursday''s Race-Off as they indicated to everyone that they are well set-up for the Wroclaw track. Gollob said: ''We would like to repeat that on Saturday night, but it is going to be hard because there are some excellent teams in the Final.''
