FREDDIE Lindgren is relishing the prospect of his World Cup debut for Sweden tonight.

The talented Wolverhampton youngster is a straight replacement for innured Monmore favourite Mikael Max who is recovering from a broken thigh and wrist. Sweden, the host nation for the second meeting of the tournament, face faviurites Poland, Germany and former champions Australia in Eskilstuna. The winners will go directly through to the final in Wroclaw, Poland, on Saturday where they will meet Great Britain. Wolves legend Peter Karlsson, currently on loan to Peterborough, also rides for the Swedes who are defending champions. But there is also a second chance for the teams finishing second and third tonight as they will go through to the race-off on Thursday against Denmark and the Czech Republic. Lindgren said: ''It''s a great honour for me to be in the World Cup. It''s an exciting opportunity and I am very much looking forward to it.'' ADAM Skornicki has joined Arena Essex in a loan deal from Wolverhampton until the end of the season. Skornicki, a big favourite at Monmore Green, replaces injured American Josh Larsen in the Hammers side and will make his home debut on August 17. Hammres boss Ronnie Russell said: ''Adam is a quality rider and I''m sure he will quickly become a firm favourite with the supporters.''
