EUROPEAN TOP TEN FOR OLLIE
07 August 2005 - Wayside Racing

Vivaldi Racing rider Ollie Bridewell scored his first ever European Championship points with a battling tenth place finish in today’s European Superstock 1000cc Championship race at Brands Hatch in Kent today.

The nineteen year old from Etchilhampton near Devizes in Wiltshire made his debut on the world scene as part of the World Superbike meeting at the Kent circuit and in front of another massive crowd impressed with another mature ride against more experienced opposition.

Ollie overcame the disappointment of qualifying in sixteenth position to post the top ten placing which added to his recent run of good results.

He held fifteenth position in the early stages of the race before gradually picking off the riders in front in typical fashion and at the end both he and his team were delighted with the result.

“I can’t believe how fast these riders are, it’s a different league to what I’m used to. But now I’ve got a taste of European racing I certainly want more. I was very nervous at the start and I think that affected me more that it should have done but a top ten was the least I knew I was capable of. These past couple of weeks have been a great learning experience for me and I’d like to thank the team for their support but now I have to concentrate on British Championship action and that’s what I am going to focus on in the next couple of weeks prior to Silverstone.”
