BURNS BREAKS FOOT AT CASTLE COMBE.
01 August 2005 - Aim Racing

Chris Burns broke his right foot during the 1st practice session at Castle Combe.

Burns commented “I was not pushing the bike too hard because I was learning the track. About 3 laps into the session going through the Esses something must have broke on the bike; as the next thing I knew I was being launched out of seat. As I hit the ground I saw the bike coming towards me and it landed on my right foot.

This has put back our test programme we have had to cancel testing at Silverstone. I was also offered a ride at Brands Hatch this weekend on the Foggy Petronas bike if Garry McGoy failed his medical, now this won’t happen. I will be fit for the BSB round but it now looks like I will not be on a bike for the weeks leading up to Silverstone.

This means again I will be at a disadvantage going into a BSB round. The guys are still working on the bike so we will be making improvements for the next round, while, I am resting.”

Alistair Flanagan commented “This is a disappointment, but it’s also racing. We hope Chris makes a fast recovery and is back on the bike soon. At this moment we are not looking for a replacement rider for Silverstone as we are confidant he will be Okay.”
