POOLE are still on course for an automatic place in the Elite League play-off final after gaining maximum points from their home clash with Peterborough.
The 53-40 win gave them their 11th aggregate bonus point of the season and they are now 10-points clear of third placed Wolverhampton. Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: ''It was a solid performance and it must rate as one of our best home displays of the season.'' SERGEY Darkin''s Coventry debut has been put on hold by the British Embassy in Moscow. Though the Russian''s bikes are in this country, he failed to obtain a visa in time. Bees have already received Darkin''s work permit but a backlog of visa applications means he will have to wait to race. He has rebooked his flight and is now due to ride at Peterborough next Monday. NEWPORT have announced that child admission prices will be slashed to just £1 throughout next month for their Premier League meetings. Club owner Tim Stone said: ''We were approached by Newport City Council about the possibility of tickets for kids on a couple of estates as it was the school holidays. ''We thought about the situation and decided that rather than inviting kids in on a couple of estates, we should extend it for the whole of Newport.''
