SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
28 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

ASON Crump believes Australia will start next week''s World Cup as outsiders.

The Aussies ride in Sweden on Tuesday against Poland, Germany and the host nation. Crump said: ''We''ve got a couple of new guys in the side this year and I think the time is right for us to start rebuilding. But we''ll be up for it and we want to head straight to the final in Poland.''

NEW Oxford signing Pawel Staszek has been blocked from making his Silver Machine debut after he was detained at a Swedish airport. It appears Staszek has an out of date passport and ID papers and cannot enter the country. Oxford boss Nigel Wagstaff said: ''It appears he entered Sweden by ferry and nobody queried his ID but the authorities at the airport were obviously far more vigilant.''
