HASLAM FASTEST AT CADWELL PARK IN OFFICIAL BSB TEST
27 July 2005 - GSE Racing

Airwaves Ducati rider Leon Haslam was fastest across all three sessions at the official British Superbike Test at Cadwell Park today.

With two of the three sessions run on a dry track and many of the Englishman’s rivals also present at the Lincolnshire circuit, it was a major boost ahead of the resumption of the BSB season. Leon’s teammate, Gregorio Lavilla, spent a productive day learning the track and was pleased to gain prior knowledge of the circuit before the race there on the 29th August.

Leon, who set the fastest lap of the day at 1:28.763s, was delighted with his performance: “I’m really happy to be consistently quick all day, lapping almost 0.4s under the lap record. We’ve worked on plenty of aspects of the bike set up and it was excellent to have Dunlop here with us to try new tyres. I’ve not been here for two years so it was good to re-acquaint myself with the track and I’m looking forward to continuing the progress next week at Silverstone”.

Gregorio was pleased to get plenty of laps under his belt: “This is the last of the remaining circuits that I have no knowledge of so today was a crucial learning experience for me. I got progressively quicker throughout the day and I’ll be ready for the race weekend here in a month. We worked on plenty of settings and the bike felt good. Following a few weeks off, I’m fit and raring to go and looking forward to Silverstone next week”.

The team will now head for a test day at Silverstone on the 2nd August before the BSB season reconvenes there on the 21st August.
