21 July 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
PARRYS International Wolves produced a spectacular late fightback to snatch the aggregate bonus point as they were defeated 51-44 at Arena-Essex on Wednesday night.
The Monmore men trailed by 18 points on the night, and seven on aggregate, with four heats to go but an 8-1 from Fredrik Lindgren and Chris Neath in Heat 12 brought them right back into contention. Mikael Max then took charge with race wins in two of the last three heats, and he had enough support in those closing stages for Wolves to complete their recovery. ARENA-ESSEX: Leigh Lanham 13+2, Dean Barker 11+3, Mark Loram 11, Kelvin Tatum 10, Grzegorz Walasek 3+1, Paul Hurry 3, rider replacement for Josh Larsen. WOLVES: Mikael Max 14, Fredrik Lindgren 12, Chris Neath 8+2, David Howe 6+2, Sam Ermolenko 4+1, Adam Skornicki 0, rider replacement for Daniel Nermark. *WOLVES go back into action on Thursday night against Coventry at Brandon, looking for their second away win of the campaign at the home of their local rivals. Simon Stead returns to the Wolves line-up at reserve with Fredrik Lindgren moving into the main body of the team. Coventry had hoped to include new signing, Russian Sergey Darkin, but red tape has delayed his debut until next Monday. COVENTRY: Andreas Jonsson, Chris Harris, Billy Janniro, Morten Risager, Stuart Robson, Jason Bunyan, AN Other. WOLVES: Mikael Max, r/r for Daniel Nermark, Fredrik Lindgren, David Howe, Sam Ermolenko, Adam Skornicki, Simon Stead.
