BIKE ACTION HOTS UP AT CROFT THIS WEEKEND
25 July 2005 - Croft Circuit

Round three of the popular North East Motor Cycle Racing Club championship series gets underway at Croft Circuit near Darlington this weekend with another capacity field set to battle out the various classes.

Following the previous round held at East Fortune near Edinburgh, local riders are well placed in all of the classes going into this weekend’s action which forms the penultimate round of the four round NEMCRC series.

Teenager Chris Coates from Gateshead leads both the F600 class as well as the Laird of Croft aboard his ex Jamie Robinson Yamaha R6 and again will prove a hard act to beat but other riders who intend to have a say include Chester le Street’s Dave Bell who leads the 1300cc Open Class on his Suzuki and Tynesider Keith Pringle who heads the Ken Redfern Trophy on his Kawasaki.

12 year old Geordie Joe Burns, the brother of BSB racer Chris Burns, is looking good for the F125 title whilst Aberdeen’s Simon Glennie is doing likewise at the top of the Acrol Trophy and F400 classes on his Kawasaki.

Other championship leaders looking to bolster their advantages include Mick Ibbotson/Jason Miller (Open Sidecar), Stuart Anderson (125GP) and Ian Myers (Sound of Thunder).

Practice gets underway at 9.30 on Saturday with racing immediately after and the action starts at noon on Sunday. Adult admission is just £10.00 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days.
