HARLEY-DAVIDSON OFFERS THREE NEW MODELS IN UK FOR 2005
21 July 2004 - Harley-Davidson UK

Brighter Headlights and Optional Original-Equipment Wheels Introduced

Harley-Davidson introduces three new models for 2005. Eleven new colour options and improved headlight technology are among significant product enhancements offered for the Motor Company’s 2005 model year.

“This is an exciting model year,” said Patrice Morin, marketing manager for Harley-Davidson UK. “With three new models and a host of updates, Harley-Davidson’s 2005 models will demonstrate the company’s continued leadership in factory custom styling.”

The soul of Harley-Davidson runs deeper than paint and chrome, and every 2005 model carries that unique strain of motorcycle DNA that’s unmistakably Harley-Davidson. It’s a look and sound and just-right feeling that simply can’t be duplicated.

Highlights of the 2005 Harley-Davidson line include:

Two bold new Softail models bolster Harley-Davidson’s leadership position in the execution of custom styling. The FLSTNI Softail Deluxe and FLSTSCI Springer Classic both incorporate a host of nostalgic styling cues that blend seamlessly with the acclaimed performance and comfort of the Harley-Davidson Softail platform.

The Dyna Glide family changes with the introduction of the sparkling new FXDCI Super Glide Custom as the entry-level 1450cc Big Twin Harley-Davidson, replacing the FXDI Dyna Super Glide, retaining great value for money with enhanced chrome styling.

All 2005 Sportster models have a new, stiffer swingarm and larger diameter rear axle for improved handling.

A new vented lower fairing improves warm-weather riding comfort on the FLHTCUI Ultra Classic Electra Glide.

VRSC V-Rod models get more colour options for 2005. The VRSCB will be available in five colours, while the VRSCA model will be offered in nine colour choices, including four two-tone paint combinations.

The FXDWGI Dyna Wide Glide, FLSTNI Softail Deluxe and FLHRCI Road King Classic will feature a sleek new chrome Profile Laced-wire wheel. This wheel will also be available as an option on the FLHRI Road King.

A new dipstick design for all Softail models makes it possible to check the oil level with the motorcycle on its sidestand.

Harley-Davidson will introduce 11 new paint combinations for 2005, including three new solid colours, two new Sunglo Pearl colours, and six new two-tone and three-tone combinations.

Finally, all 2005 Harley-Davidson models are equipped with new clear-lens reflector-optic headlights that offer increased lighting intensity and an enhanced light beam pattern. A small Bar & Shield cloisonné affixed to the lens of every new headlight places Harley-Davidson out front for 2005.
