SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
25 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
CARL Stonehewer is out for the rest of the season after crashing during Workington''s weekend win over the Isle of Wight.
Stonehewer has suffered a serious arm injury which will need skin grafts and it also means he will miss racing in his own testimonial meeting. Workington co-boss Denise Drury said: ''The lad is devastated. It was a racing incident and these things happen, but he is very down.'' GARRY Stead has been forced to withdraw from Wednesday''s Champions'' Chase at King''s Lynn through injury. But the Hull man will be replaced by in-form Swede Emil Kramer who is backed to be just as successful by Vikings boss Dave Peet. Peet said: ''It''s a shame for Garry but Emil is riding well and I''m sure he''ll be up with the challengers for the title in a big meeting.''
