NEW VENTURA LUGGAGE FOR TRIUMPH SPEED TRIPLE 1050
30 July 2005 - Motohaus Powersports

There is little doubt that owners of the new Triumph Speed Triple, with the 1050cc Sprint ST engine, will be tempted to go travelling at some stage. The only drawback is that its ‘brutal’ streetfighter styling make carrying luggage problematic – the only luggage listed by the factory is a tank bag.

So Ventura have produced a fitting kit that is tailor made for the bike and will enable riders to tour two-up and still take plenty of luggage. Ventura’s unique soft luggage rack system offers substantial carrying capacity and incredible stability (it has been independently tested at over 180mph) yet can be removed from the bike in a matter of seconds, leaving minimal evidence of the rigid frame on which the packs sit.

The system is modular & based around L-brackets, which are tailor-made for each model, so that they can be fitted with the minimum fuss. For the Speed Triple, these have been engineered to mount from the exhaust bracket on the rear sub frame and pillion foot rest hangers, keeping the luggage a safe distance from the high level exhaust system. The Pack Rack slots into the L-brackets and then a choice of Ventura Packs can be dropped onto the rack and clipped into place. Thus the system is completely stable, even at speed.

Just as importantly, when not in use, the Pack Rack can be removed, leaving only the L-brackets exposed. Alternatively, the Pack rack can be replaced with discreet Grab Handle or Sport Rack.

The Ventura fitting kit for the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 sells for £79.99 inc. VAT. Add £41.99 for a Pack Rack. The Sport Rack costs £36.99 and the Grab Handle is £19.99. Pack prices start at £84.99 for the 35-litre Delta Pack.

The systems pictured feature L-brackets, Pack-Rack and 45-litre capacity Spada Pack, (in black, red or blue), giving a total cost of £216.97.
