SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
22 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

BACK the Brits... that''s the message as Team Great Britain prepare for their World Cup qualifier against Denmark, Czech Republic and Russia at Swindon on Sunday, July 31 (6pm).

And fans are being urged to buy tickets as there will be no cash turnstiles - although tickets will be on sale on the day. British Speedway president Terry Russell said: ''We won''t be taking any cash because numbers need to be monitored.''

EXETER star Mark Lemon is relishing the prospect of taking his place in the Champions'' Chase at King''s Lynn next Wednesday. The meeting features 32 Premier League riders with a dramatic knockout format. Leomon said: ''King''s Lynn has a terrific reputation and there''s no denying the fact that it''s an awesome race track. But to enjoy it and succeed you have to have the right set-up.''

WORKINGTON will have Finnish rider Kauko Nieminen back in their side for Saturday''s meeting with the Isle of Wight. Nieminen returns from a broken shoulder but Sebastian Tressarieau''s move from Swindon has collapsed because of a rival cash bid from King''s Lynn. Boss Graham Drury said: ''Kauko''s return is a timely boost after the farce of the Tressarieau situation after everything had been agreed with the rider.''
