EVERY Premier League club will be represented at the eagerly awaited Champions Chase at King''s Lynn on Wednesday, July 27.

But reigning champion, Newport''s Craig Watson, will be unable to defend his title through injury. British Speedway chairman Peter Toogood said: ''To have 32 of the top Premier League riders doing battle on one of the best racetracks is a great sight. They are all under pressure to perform.''

ALAN Mogridge is putting the finishing touches to his testimonial meeting which takes place at Stoke''s Loomer Road on Saturday. The meeting will comprise of two teams plus a series of match races between duos representing England and Scotland. He said: ''I just want everyone to have a good time on the night. I''ve kept it low profile because that`s my style. If people want to come along, that''s great.''

NEWPORT are on the verge of making a new signing to bolster their asset base. Boss Tim Stone is in talks with a mystery foreign rider who is keen to make the grade in British racing. Stone said: ''I''m talking to the rider as well as a few other people and getting their opinions. Something should happen very soon and hopefully it will prove to be good for the club.''
