WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
19 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

NEWLY crowned British champion Scott Nicholls will make a guest appearance for Wolverhampton in Wednesday night''s Elite League clash at Belle Vue.

Nicholls, who rides for Coventry, has agreed to deputise for broken thigh victim Mikael Max at short notice after the Swede crashed in a league meeting in his home country on Tuesday night. And James Grieves, a member of Wolverhampton''s famous 1996 double winning team, will come in for Magnus Karlsson who damaged a shoulder in the same meeting. Grieves, who races for Newcastle in the Premier League, is part of Wolverhampton''s Elite League squad and will make his first appearance of the season in Manchester. Boss Chris Van Straaten said: ''It''s a great opportunity for James who was very quick to say yes to our request, as was Scotty Nicholls, and we look forward to including them both at Belle Vue. ''We will update the position regarding the two injured boys as soon as we get more information.''

WOLVES: Scott Nicholls, Ronnie Correy, Steve Johnston, David Howe, Freddie Lindgren, James Grieves, Krzysztof Pecyna.
