BERWICK ARE THROUGH TO THE KNOCKOUT CUP SEMI-FINALS - BUT AT A COST.
18 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

The high flying Bandits beat Workington 48-42 at Derwent Park but Scott Smith has sustained a suspected broken pelvis.

Smith collided with Comets youngster James Wright who was also forced to pull out of the meeting with bad bruising. Berwick''s aggregate win was 97-83 and they remain on target for a league and cup double.

WORKINGTON have released Adam Allott from his short term contract with the club. The former King''s Lynn rider has struggled since joining the club as a replacement for shoulder injury victim Kauko Nieminen. Boss Graham Drury said: ''It''s just not worked out with Adam and I''m working on an alternative in time for our weekend meeting with the Isle of Wight. We thank him for his efforts.''
