PROTON’S CARS (AND AN MV AUGUSTA) TO THE PEOPLE TOUR SETS OFF TO SHEFFIELD
24 July 2005 - Proton
Proton Cars (UK) Ltd will visit Sheffield, Fargate Street from 25-28 July and the Meadowhall Motorshow from 30-31 July.
Visitors to the Proton stand will see Proton’s new 30ft exhibition unit on its nationwide tour – a UK first for the Malaysian manufacturer. The unit will display the GEN-2, the first model of a new generation of Lotus inspired cars from Proton and a Lotus Elise sports car and an MV Agusta superbike will also be on show at the events. Later in the year, Proton will be introducing its new 5 door supermini, the Savvy, at other events. Proton is quite literally taking their Cars to the People and are giving visitors a chance to step inside the cars, pop open the bonnet and boot and generally have a good look around. At the Meadowhall Motorshow the Impian saloon and the popular two door pick-up, the Jumbuck will also be on show. The GEN-2 and the Jumbuck will be available for test drives at the motorshow, giving visitors the chance to experience the vehicles first hand. Visitors to the event can enter the free prize draw to win a brand new top of the range GEN-2 1.6 GSX with metallic paint (worth over £11,000) by simply registering their details on the Proton stand. The GEN-2 1.6 GSX has four airbags, remote central locking and engine immobiliser, ABS, climate control, leather seats, alloy wheels, a Blaupunkt radio/CD player with a 10-CD changer and much more. The Proton stand will also be stacked with free giveaway goodies for children and the young at heart. Visitors will be able to visit the Proton stand at Sheffield Fargate Street from 25-28 July and it will be open every day from 9am until 5pm. The Meadowhall Motorshow from 30-31 July will be open from 9am-7pm on Saturday and from 11am-5pm on Sunday. For those unable to come to the event, the full Proton range can be viewed and driven at the local Proton dealer N.R Bates & Son, who can be found at 535 Richmond Road, Intake in Sheffield; telephone 0114 239 6736.
