UK LEG OF MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP LIVE FROM DONINGTON PARK
23 July 2005 - BBC

The MotoGP World Championship races into Donington Park this weekend, with coverage of this season''s ninth meeting being shown live on BBC TWO.

Joining BBC''s face of motorsport, Suzi Perry, will be pit-lane reporter, Gavin Emmett, bringing viewers the latest news on the riders and their bikes, along with expert commentary pairing, Charlie Cox and Steven Parrish.

Parrish takes a break from his commentary preparations and gets up close and personal to the team Suzuki race bike when he takes it for a test ride.

Avid MotoGP fan Matthew Pinsent would normally be undertaking some form of strenuous training at this time of year. However, now retired, and with a little more leisure time on his hands, Matthew gets the chance to attend his first race in years and will provide us with a fan''s-eye view of the race.

This year Nigel Mansell joins Suzi as the studio guest and gives his perspective on two wheels, instead of the usual four.

The BBC Sport website will have all the latest news from Donington, including interviews with the leading riders and a full statistics package. There will also be video highlights available on demand.

Radio Five Live will provide listeners with regular race updates.

BBC Interactive digital viewers can begin their viewing a day earlier, by pressing the red button and watching Saturday''s qualifying race at 12.55pm.

This is the third year that the BBC has shown MotoGP, with commitment to the sport now running until 2009.

Coverage of the race begins on at 3.00pm on BBC TWO on 24 July on Sunday Grandstand.
