SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
14 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
DAVID Norris has pulled out of Great Britain''s World Cup squad - and he is replaced by Coventry''s in-form youngster Chris Harris.
Norris is still suffering from a neck injury and has been told to rest for another fortnight. GB boss Neil Middleditch said: ''It''s a heartbreaking decision for David because he was so desperate to race, but at least he has given us time to prepare with Chris.'' HULL have been told to pay £75,000 towards a new track at Craven Park by landlords Hull KR - or risk eviction from the stadium. Rovers want to widen their Rugby League pitch to meet Super League standards and that means moving the speedway track. Vikings co-promoter Paul Hodder said: ''This situation is not what I expected, based on my previous discussions with Rovers and the council.''
