DRAG RACING, DRIFTING AND STUNT BIKE EXPOS SET PACE FOR SAN DIEGO''S HOT IMPORT DAZE The nation''s largest lifestyle custom car show returns to Southern California to host one of the region''s largest motorsports events ever. Vision Entertainment brings the 2005 XM Satellite Radio Hot Import Nights/Daze tour to San Diego''s Qualcomm Stadium on July 23 from 1-8 p.m. Hot Import Nights (HIN), presented by Valvoline Synpower, is the largest lifestyle custom car show in the nation and the only one of its kind that brings together all elements of youth and car culture in one night. More than 2.1 million square feet will be used in this machine circus to bring drag racing, supercharged driving demos, drifting and stunt bike exhibitions to San Diego show-goers, making this one of the most anticipated events of the tour and one of the region''s largest motorsports events ever. Over 500 show vehicles will be featured at San Diego''s Hot Import Daze (HID), which will have more action-packed demos and hands-on entertainment than any other show this year. Race Legal, a non-profit program established by the Center for Injury Prevention to promote and arrange alternatives to illegal street racing, will present ''Blowout Bracket Finals.'' This event is a 1/8th mile drag race bracket competition with prizes for first through fourth place, with the first place award standing at $500. The cost is $50 to enter the competition and $20 for participating in ''Test, Tune and Time,'' the open drag racing expo. Show attendees can also test their driving skills in go-cart races held throughout the day. Also, spectators will have the opportunity to not only ride with a professional drift car driver in the drifting exhibition sponsored by B.F. Goodrich Tires, but they can also get behind the wheel of a brand new Cobalt SS and ION Redline to test drive these supercharged vehicles for free. HID fill feature an exclusive sport bike stunt exhibition and showcase with Kane One, former member of Las Vegas Extreme, alongside E-DUB of the renowned Ruff Ryders. In addition to demo action, West Coast Customs, the famed tuner shop from MTV''s ''Pimp My Ride,'' will feature a celebrity car showcase inside. Highlighted show cars include the WELD S14 straight from Japan and the Blazing 7''s, consisting of the nation''s top 3 RX-7''s from Jay Laub, Tony Yeh and Les Wong. And, for the first time ever, HID will extend their showcase awards by including the Hottest Truck category, with awards for first through third place for Southern California''s hottest lowered and lifted trucks and SUVs. HID costs $25 for general admission and $55 to enter the car competition. Also, show-goers have the opportunity to meet Ursula Mayes, Miss HIN 2005 and 2004 Maxim ''Hometown Hottie'' finalist, as well as actress Masuimi Max of the movie State of the Union and Hannah Durke, 2005 Valvoline Synpower National Spokesmodel.
