WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
19 July 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

DENMARK deservedly won a thoroughly entertaining Test Match against Team Great Britain at Monmore Green on Monday night, although the meeting finished in controversy after a last race incident.

Hans Andersen was excluded from Heat 15 after diving through on the inside of David Norris, clipping the British rider and sending him into the fence sparking angry scenes on the track. But the Danes were well worth their overall win as they supplied twelve of the fifteen heat winners, although Great Britain could point to the absence of Mark Loram through injury, and the fact that Lee Richardson was forced to pull out after one ride, as mitigating factors in their defeat. GREAT BRITAIN 44: Scott Nicholls 12+2, David Norris 9+1, David Howe 9, Gary Havelock 6, Chris Neath 4+4, Stuart Robson 4, Lee Richardson 0. DENMARK 50: Nicki Pedersen 11, Hans Andersen 10, Kenneth Bjerre 9, Niels-Kristian Iversen 7+2, Bjarne Pedersen 7+1, Charlie Gjedde 6+1, Morten Risager 0.
