WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
07 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

ELITE LEAGUE: POOLE 52 WOLVERHAMPTON 43

PARRYS International Wolves stepped up several gears from Monday''s home defeat by Coventry, but were unable to break the reigning Champions'' unbeaten home record at Wimborne Road. Poole always held the upper hand after going in front with a maximum heat advantage in Heat 3, although Wolves made good use of their tactical rides later in the meeting. Mikael Max was able to double up his score from second place behind the flying Krzysztof Kasprzak in Heat 11, and Adam Skornicki then won the next race to take a big six points as Wolves closed the gap on the Pirates to five points. But an engine failure for Fredrik Lindgren in Heat 13 allowed Poole to pull clear once again, although the home side were unlucky themselves when Kasprzak saw his chances of a maximum ended by mechanical problems of his own in the last race. Wolves battled hard throughout, but the fact that they were only able to provide three of the 15 heat winners proved to be their undoing.

POOLE: Krzysztof Kasprzak 12, Bjarne Pedersen 11+1, Matej Ferjan 9+1, Ricky Ashworth 8+1, Ryan Sullivan 8, Antonio Lindback 4+1, Tobias Johansson 0.

WOLVES: Mikael Max 13, Adam Skornicki 9, Fredrik Lindgren 6+2, Magnus Karlsson 6, Krzysztof Pecyna 5+1, Ronnie Correy 2+2, Steve Johnston 2+1.
