SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
06 July 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association
OXFORD promoter Nigel Wagstaff believes every rider in Sunday''s Championship of Great Britain Final has something to prove.
Belle Vue''s Joe Screen defends his title against the likes of former world champion Mark Loram and current Grand Prix stars Lee Richardson and Scott Nicholls. Wagstaff said: ''It''s a class field with world class riders and there is a challenge there for each and every rider, without a doubt.'' HULL''S Joel Parsons has had a three-hour operation to pin his broken leg and will miss the rest of the season. Parsons crashed when riding for his Conference League club Mildenhall at the weekend. Hull boss Dave Peet said: ''It''s a massive blow for the lad and it makes life hard for us because his average has dipped which restricts the guests we can use to replace him.''
