TWO RIDERS PENALIZED FOR USING ILLEGAL FUEL AT BUDDS CREEK MOTOCROSS
02 July 2005 - AMA Pro Racing

AMA Pro Racing has announced that two riders have been penalized 25 points each for using illegal fuel at round four of the AMA Motocross Championship presented by FMF at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Budds Creek, MD., on June 19.

Riders receiving the penalty are Michael Byrne and James Stewart.

Fuel samples were collected from nine motorcycles at Budds Creek and the samples from the motorcycles of riders Byrne and Stewart were found to be in non-compliance. Fuel from the motorcycles of Mike Brown, Ricky Carmichael, Josh Grant, Grant Langston, Akira Narita, Chad Reed and Ivan Tedesco was found to be in compliance.

The fuel samples were sent to a certified testing lab which confirmed that the fuel did not meet the requirements specified in the AMA Supercross/Motocross Rulebook.
