ANOTHER HONDA FIRST!
01 July 2005 - Honda (UK)
Honda Insurance Services is the first company to launch a manufacturer-backed insurance scheme aimed at covering its popular off-road machines.
The new scheme, exclusive to Honda, can provide a policy to cover all 12 of the new off-road Honda motorcycles, from the little CRF50 up to the awesome XR650, as long as the machine was originally imported by Honda (UK). Insurance can also be purchased for used machines. The key points of the Honda off-road scheme are: Covers Honda new and used motocross and enduro off-road machines Owners aged 16 or over with no licence requirements No upper value limit (heavily modified machine may require an independent valuation and receipt/pictures of the bike to agree a value) Premiums start from as low as £100.00 per year Excess is set at 10% of the value of the bike (minimum excess of £350) All bikes covered by the scheme must be kept at the home address in a locked building, secured to a ground anchor by a chain approved by Honda Insurance Services. Greg Willis, Communications Manager for Honda UK said: Its a great step forward for Honda Insurance Services to be able to offer this new off-road insurance scheme to our customers. It gives peace of mind to our growing number of Honda off-road purchasers that we take the security of their machines seriously by offering them this very competitive scheme.
