A MAGIC EXPERIENCE FOR MOTORCYCLISTS Around 500 motorcycling enthusiasts converged on the legendary circuit to experience four elements laid on for each participant, highlighting Buell’s innovative engineering philosophies and exceptional capabilities. A blast round the twisty Stowe circuit gave a first-hand insight into the instant power delivery available on exit of every corner, the “Battletrax” tight loops exploited the Buells’ outstanding chassis and manoeuvrability, then on to a stunt show by Buell’s own world-record ‘stoppie’ holder Craig Jones – who puts the whole Buell range through its paces better than anyone, and whose antics beggar belief about what can be done on any motorcycle. And lastly, but by absolutely no means least, the participants got the chance to meet Erik Buell, whose passion for his motorcycles is infectious to everyone, and each were enthralled with the story of how Erik went from AMA Superbike racer to manufacturer of the most innovative motorcycles on the market today. He explained Buell’s “trilogy of tech” (mass centralisation, frame rigidity and low un-sprung weight) and its benefit to real world riding, and left every motorcyclist in awe of the radical use of engineering and technology that lies beneath the beautifully styled exterior of the Buell XB platform motorcycles. Dale Robinson, operations director at the Magic Group said: “It was our privilege to welcome Erik and the hundreds of riders that came to experience Buell first-hand. It was an amazingly diverse group of motorcycles that lined the car park, but all left with a great understanding of these unique bikes, and everyone was amazed to meet the man whose name is on the tank! “We like to give our customers something exceptional, and we really feel that was achieved with this event. Watch this space for our future planned events.” With the Magic Group’s own Silverstone Harley-Davidson and Buell dealership just down the road, the GP circuit provided the perfect platform for the motoring specialists to stage this ultimate Buell day for motorcycle enthusiasts.
