WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
29 June 2005 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON secured their first away win of the season in style, going through the 60-point barrier as they put woeful Arena to the sword at Purfleet.

A home side bereft of confidence following six defeats on their own track already were left shell-shocked by a stunning early Wolves blast, the visitors taking 5-1s in the first three heats and romping into an astonishing 24-6 lead after five. Adam Skornicki, Mikael Max and skipper Steve Johnston were only beaten by Mark Loram with the lead hitting the 20-point mark after Heat 12 as Skornicki surged to his third win of the night. Loram fought on his own for the unhappy Hammers, scoring nearly half of his team''s points, with Sergey Darkin winning two races but the rest of the Arena team enduring a nightmare. The result lifts Wolves into the play-off places in the Elite League and should give the riders massive confidence ahead of Monday''s big local derby with Coventry.
